Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

ENROLMENTS FOR 2022!

Due to the success of our Open Day and Day in Action there has been a significant increase in interest and enrolments for next year already. Enrolments are required by the 1st September, 2021 in order to secure your child’s place in Foundation for 2022.

If you have a sibling who will be coming to Maramba next year, please come and collect an enrolment form from the office. If you know of someone interested in our school for next year please ask them to contact us to take a tour. We can organise a time that works best for their family. Simply ring the office 9796 7150 to make a booking.

EDUCATION WEEK – 24TH MAY TO 28TH MAY

Education Week’s theme this year is called ‘Building Connections’. The theme celebrates the connections between our school, our families and carers and our community.

This year we will be running Education week over two weeks as part of reconnecting with families after the extensive time away from school during Covid. The first week will be for parents and carers with the second week being for our grandparents.

WEEK 1 – PARENTS AND CARERS

During the first week from Monday 24th – Friday 28th May, parents and carers are invited to visit their child’s classroom to participate in a fun quiz or STEAM based activity with their child and the other parents, cares and students in the class.

WEEK 2 - GRANDPARENTS

In the second week from Tuesday 1st June – Friday 4th June, grandparents are invited to join in their grandchild’s art lesson. This week also coincides with reconciliation week so they will engage in some indigenous art with symbols that links to and expresses their connection with each other and the importance of their personal reconciliation action.

**NB: ALL Education Week Building Connections session dates and times will be sent out via the school app Konnective.

It will be vitally important that parents, cares and grandparents RSVP by Friday 21st to ensure we can prepare resources and make sure we have enough space in the classrooms to accommodate everyone.

We look forward to the fun and excitement ahead but also strengthening our connections to each other and our community!

NATIONAL ASSESSMENT PROGRAM – LITERACY AND NUMERACY

Well done so far to our Year 3s and 5s for the tests they have sat for NAPLAN. The first week of NAPLAN tests have finished with our Y3 and Y5 students doing great with their writing and reading assessments.

Next week is the final week of the NAPLAN testing window where students will sit their language conventions and mathematics tests. Please ensure we ALL arrive at school on time on these days to ensure they are settled, confident and ready to start their test to achieve the very best they can.

This is a great opportunity for students to have an early night to maximise their brain power and wake up feeling refreshed. Coupled with a healthy and hearty breakfast to kick-start their body and minds for the day ahead.

Kind regards,

Darren Wallace
