Queen's Birthday Holiday (June 14)

Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday - no school

Rockstar Day (June 25)

On Friday 25th June, we are having a dress up 'Rockstar Day' to raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital. Children will be able to come to school dressed as a Rockstar, Popstar or anything music related.

We are requesting a gold coin donation from each student with proceeds going to the Music Therapy Department of the Royal Children’s hospital. Check out the awesome video! https://www.rch.org.au/musictherapy/

Please speak to your children about what they would like to plan for their costume!  Don't go to too much trouble or expense - it is all about having fun and celebrating music.

Naidoc Week (June 21-25)

This week will be acknowledged by Australia in the school holidays, so we will celebrate as a school slightly early.

Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews (June 24)

Please book a slot via Compass to meet with your child's class teacher on Thursday 24th June. Appointment times will run from 11am-7pm. If you are unable to make it on Thursday, reach out to your child's teacher to arrange an alternative.

Your attendance will be noted on Compass as your child's attendance at school that day. We look forward to meeting with you to work towards our common goal of supporting the students to achieve their full potential.

Last Day of Term (June 25)

Remember we finish school at the earlier time of 2:30pm. Book into OSHClub if you cannot pick your child up early.

Term 3 Invisit - Care for the Kids

Next term, to align with our Inquiry topic ‘Care for the Kids,’ St Kilda Mums will be coming to school for an in-visit. They will share with Grade 5/6 students the ways in which they provide support for the local community. St Kilda Mums recycle nursery equipment including cots, prams, and car seats, as well as clothes and other baby essentials. They help Maternal Child Health nurses and social workers on behalf of families in need. St Kilda Mums give to people who are facing a variety of challenges and hope they feel uplifted when they receive a donation.

We would like to thank St Kilda Mums for their time in coming to school to share the fantastic work they do with us by donating some useful resources. If you are able to donate some baby essentials for your child to bring to school it will be greatly appreciated.

Donations may include:

  • Nappies
  • Clothes
  • Muslin cloths
  • Nursery equipment
  • Environmentally friendly water wipes

Any donations can be given to your child’s class teacher by the end of Term 3, Week 4 (Friday 6th June)

Thank you for your support.

Junior School Council (JSC)

The JSC will be meeting next week. The fundraising sub-committee have been organising the Rockstar Day fundraiser ,led by our school captain, Riley. Stay tuned for an update in the next newsletter. In the meantime, get to know one of our school vice-captains, Ally...

Ally - School Vice Captain

Hello SMPS community!

I have the honour of being School Vice-Captain at this school. I have been attending SMPS from the first day it opened. From the first day of this school to right now and every day I see inclusive and smiley learners. I feel so satisfied, knowing that I have the great privilege of leading such sweet students with three other amazing leaders! There are so many things that stand out at SMPS. One of the things that makes SMPS special to me is all the teachers! My teacher, Miss Jo, challenges me so much and makes everything fun for every student. All the teachers are so astounding, and they put so much work into making this school the best it can be, and I find that so inspiring.
