Friendship Skills

There are lots of ‘little’ skills that come together to make our friendships strong and enduring. Some of these skills come naturally, others we need to learn and consistently work on! Positive social interactions and connections rely on these abilities – consider the following list:

  • Sharing
  • Taking turns
  • Understanding another perspective
  • Empathy
  • Listening

It is good to do a little ‘self-check’ to see how we are modelling and encouraging these skills in our children – I know our staff do great work teaching these values!
