Visual Communication Design Unit 2

In Visual Communication Design, students were tasked with creating a product for a specific client and had to follow a design brief with constraints and limitations. They were required to design a baggage tag for the company ‘Zoo’s Victoria’ which was to be sold at Zoo stores. Their design needed to focus on an endangered animal housed at one of the Zoos and needed to address the needs of their target audience including international travellers, school-aged children and parents/grandparents of those children.

Students completed some amazing designs that were thoroughly explored through their folio in order to achieve a great outcome for their final presentation.

The final product they created was made with use of Adobe Illustrator and a laser cutter with the preliminary work done through traditional means such as technical drawing including isometric and third angle orthogonal work.

We are very proud of the students work!

Year 7 students are designing logos for the Visual Communication Design component of their Sustainable Futures Unit for Integrated Learning. They have applied new skills using Adobe Illustrator to create logos to a professional level and are to be commended on their outstanding efforts.

I enjoyed this task because I was able to use an editing software that I had not used before, which was Adobe Illustrator. I enjoyed using Adobe Illustrator because it had a variety of functions, which aided me in making my logo unique and colourful.
