Performance at Govt House

The String and trumpet quartets performed to an audience of 600 people in the historical and very beautiful Government House on Sept 11, while Queens Birthday honours were awarded.

Music Shines!

Thank you to our Music teachers and Ensemble leaders for their hard work and dedication supporting students participation in the recent VSMF and Royal South Street competitions. It is always nice to receive recognition of the achievements of our ensembles. Thank you to all the Directors of every ensemble that participated in the competitions. No matter the outcome, every ensemble proudly represented NHS. 

The following is a list of the awards that were received:

* Junior Stage Band – Silver award at VSMF

* Intermediate Stage Band - Gold award at VSMF

* Senior Stage Band - Highly Commended at Royal South Street

* Junior Concert Band - Highly Commended at Royal South Street

* Intermediate Concert band - Bronze award at VSMF

* Junior Choir - Bronze award at Royal South Street

* World Sounds Ensemble - 1st Place at Royal South Street

Music Trivia Night

The first annual Friends of Music Quiz night was a huge success with over 190 people in attendance. A big thank you to Lawrence Mooney for compering the evening, Stewart Morrison for creating the questions and games as well as the hard working Friends of Music committee for all their preparation. Thank you to everyone who attended for your generosity, a total of $3600 was raised!
