Peer Tutoring for Reading

This year, we have implemented four of the six 'Super Six' reading strategies during the Peer Tutoring for Reading program. Please take the time to read through the four strategies implemented to date: Making Connections, Predicting, Visualising and Summarising.

Currently, we are using the 'Monitoring' strategy and will focus on 'Questioning' (not included here) toward the end of Term 3.

Provided for your use is a checklist that assists you to support your child while reading at home. Next time you listen to your child reading, grab the checklist and tally all the 'fix-up' strategies you hear. This activity is bound to generate positive discussions during reading time.
