It is a shame we are in lockdown once again during one of the significant dates in the Aboriginal calendar. The first of September marks Indigenous Literacy Day. This event raises awareness of some of the educational struggles faced by many indigenous groups in our community especially those living in more isolated areas. It also is a time to celebrate Aboriginal Culture and the stories and languages that have helped build the country we know today.
