Dear Parents and Carers, 

 

We are currently in Week 8 of Term 3 and find ourselves on the tail end of the term.  I want to express once again a big thank you to the Delacombe PS community for continuing to stay the course and doing your best in this environment.  If you are struggling in any way with your child’s work, let us know and we will look to assist where possible. 

 

I have also attached below a letter that outlines what the end of the term in remote learning will look like, as there a couple of changes due to planning.

 

 

Father’s Day Stall 

If you have ordered from our Father’s day stall.  You can collect your orders from the kitchen space on Friday at the following times:

10:30 - 11:30am

12.30 - 1.30pm 

2.30 - 3.30pm

for those students who are onsite, gifts will be sent home with them.

 

Virtual Assembly 

Next  Wednesday we hold our Virtual assembly at 2.30pm.   If you missed it you can find the recording posted out on Compass 1-2 days later.

 

CURRICULUM DAY DATE CHANGE 

Our Curriculum Day scheduled for Monday 6th September has been moved to Monday October 11th.  It involves CPR annual training that is required for some upcoming camps and also a consultant from The Resilience Project to talk to our school staff. 

 

School & House Captains - Selection Procedure 2022

Term 4 is an exciting term for our Grade 5s.  It signals the end of Grade 5, but more importantly the final year of primary school is getting closer.  As of next week we will begin the process of selecting our school leaders for 2022.  There are a range of positions that we offer our students to lead in.  It begins with the process of School Captain, then moves to the process of House Captains and finally moves to the process of other student leadership positions. 

Below is a list of dates that we will follow in the selection process. The application forms will be sent out to all students and parents in Grade 5 via Compass.

Week 9 Term 3 – Opening of application - Monday 6th September

Week 10 Term 3-   Submission of application – end of Week 10(Friday 17th Sept) - – Students will be provided with applications for school captain and house captains at this stage.

Week 1 – Grade 5 leadership follow up on – Thursday 7th Oct – Students will be provided with applications for other positions and a list of positions on offer.

Week 2 – School Captain speeches at assembly 

Week 3-4 – School captain and possible house captain interviews 

Week 6 – House Captain speeches to houses 

Week 11 –Grade 6 Farewell & transfer of leadership

 

Enrolments and 2022 Grade Levels

At Delacombe PS we continue to grow.  In 2022 we will be offering 24 classrooms across the school for a predicted 501 students.  Our aim is to keep the class sizes low.

 

We believe the classroom structure will be in the following format but is not fully locked in yet.  This is a preview of what it is looking like.

Due to our zone and growth we are unable to offer spaces to families out of zone. 

 

We currently are unable to hold tours of the school but have our  Virtual tour available for parents to view.

 

SCHOOL COMMUNICATIONS - 

At Delacombe PS we have a number of ways in which we attempt to communicate with you.

1. COMPASS 

This provides information on your child’s report , attendance and also sends out reminders of events each week. 

If you have any questions about Compass please see us in the front office.

 

2. EMAIL— staff can be emailed during working hours via Compass (8.30 -4.45pm). 

 

3. NEWSLETTER  - Navi and Compass display the newsletter.  It is a quick way to see what is happening in the school.  You can sign up to our newsletter via our website.
