2025 Programme

Headspace recently visited Girton and ran a special presentation for our Year Nine students during the 2025 Programme.  After the presentation students were set homework of doing something that helps them to destress and send in a picture.  Please enjoy the gallery of these pictures and some student reflections on our visit from Headspace.

What helps students to destress:

Last week, the year 9 cohort had the opportunity to interact with Haylee and Chloe from HeadSpace Bendigo. The zoom session enabled us as students to think about our health and wellbeing, especially in these unpredictable times. On this zoom, we learnt that we are not alone and help is always available to us. We were educated and taught about stress and ways to destress and manage our worries and feelings. This has been a huge help, with the entirety of year 9 being incredibly grateful to have experienced this opportunity. Thank you to the lovely representatives from HeadSpace who kindly gave up their time to talk to us.

The Headspace presentation for 2025 program gave the students helpful tips that they can easily apply to life. Tips for having a healthy headspace included: creating connections, sleeping well and staying active. They give great tips for teens who are managing online learning from home where it may be difficult to reach out to people.

Last week headspace did a presentation to all the year nines via zoom. This was very informative. They talked about increased pressures during lockdown and different ways to relieve stress. Out of all the different techniques the one that they emphasized the most was to ensure to do something you enjoy. This stood out for me, as it is simple, and anyone can do it without having to think too much about it. They gave us insight into what Headspace does and how they can help if you are in a tough situation or need to talk to someone.
