Community Connections

Today we launched a new program called 'Community Connections'. All students are invited to participate - please see details below!
Have you seen the show ‘Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds’? It was a show that brought together 4 year old kids and residents from an aged care home to increase positive connections and relationships between the kids and the elderly people. It turns out the experiment was really successful and dramatically increased the wellbeing for the aged care residents and also increased positive relationships for the 4 year olds.
Here at Beaumaris, we would like to create our own connections with an aged care community and are calling for volunteers to be part of a group who engages with this community – this will be through Zoom, and hopefully face-to-face later in the year. This an opportunity to learn from people many years older than you about their huge range of life experiences, to ask them questions and advice, and to create and participate in some fun activities with them. This will also be a great opportunity to create some positive well-being opportunities for others and hopefully yourself as well.
We would like to have our first meeting at school before the end of term to discuss our first session.
If you have any questions, please message Miss Jarvis on Teams.
