Year 9 Urban Expedition Week

4 - 8 October

Urban Expedition Week has been rescheduled to Term 4 Week 1. During this week, Year 9 students will have the opportunity to discover and explore Melbourne City. By visiting Melbourne, students can uncover remnants of colonial history, engage in a thriving arts scene, participate in scientific discovery, and celebrate a robust sporting culture. The Urban Expedition program allows students to choose from program options throughout the week with links to Beaumaris’ unique learning areas. Students will meet at Mentone Station and use public transport to travel to their activities. In addition to the full-day programs in the city, students may select half-day programs at school.

For off-site programs, students need to select a full-day program based on a learning area. Students who have previously expressed interest need to register again for this new week. They do not need to be currently studying the learning area to participate in that program. The cost of each program has been calculated based on the provider's cost per head. Students are expected to use a personal Myki for travel during this week (please ensure this is topped up before arrival at Mentone Station).

For on-site programs, students need to select a half-day program based on a learning area.

If you wish to participate for the entire week, choose 5 programs to attend and place them in preferential order. You may choose from both the on-site and off-site programs. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Onsite supervision will be provided for those not attending programs.
