IBM Watson Artificial Intelligence (AI) Antarctic Chatbot Program and Students at SCC

IBM recently released a video about an AI chatbot program they developed to teach children about Antarctica. David Dieckfoss introduced this project to Mr Ivic and his MYP Digital Technologies students last year. 

The students at SCC were involved in testing the Antarctic Explorer AI chatbot program and provided feedback to IBM so that they could fine tune the program for future users around Australia.

It is also on the shortlist to be the lead story on their worldwide Earth Day promotion.

The Digital Technologies students and the primary classes have were involved in this program from inception.

SCC Midford Uniform Shop - Update to Wednesday hours

Please note that the Uniform Shop manager will now have a scheduled lunch break on Wednesdays between 11:45am-12:15pm.

NORMAL TRADING HOURS

Wednesdays – 8:30am-3.30pm (Closed between 11:45am-12:15pm)

Thursdays – 12.30-3:30pm

SCC's Digital Doorknock for the Salvos

Southern Christian College is again excited and proud to support this trusted organisation - The Salvation Army - and especially our local Salvos in the Kingborough-Huon area with this year’s Red Shield Appeal.

The Salvation Army Kingborough-Huon Corps works hard to make a difference in the lives of those doing it tough in our local community. Salvos meet people at their point of need and walk alongside them in their journey of recovery. Their vision is to transform the Kingborough-Huon area "one life at a time with the love of Jesus"!

If you can, please donate to our school fundraising page so that we can support the Kingborough-Huon Salvos to provide social and community services in our area. Together, we can help make a difference in someone’s life!

NAPLAN Catch-up Tests

NAPLAN catch-up tests will continue until this Friday 20th May, for Grade 3, 5, 7 and 9 students who missed

Required for NAPLAN

All Grade 7 and 9 students are required to bring a fully charged laptop and a set of headphones/earbuds (NOT bluetooth) for NAPLAN.

Students who forget their earbuds will be provided with a set and parents will be invoiced for them.
