Wellbeing News | Online support for parents now free for all Victorian families

All families with children between birth and 16 years can now get free, expert parenting tips and strategies via the online Triple P – Positive Parenting Program

This FREE program is funded by the Victorian Government. You can get ideas on how to positively support your child’s emotional wellbeing, social skills and more. There’s a program for parents of younger children (0-12 years) and another for parents of tweens and teens (10-16 years). To support children (aged 6-14 years) to recognise and cope with anxiety and worries, parents can do Fear-LessTriple P

These online programs are interactive with videos, worksheets and activities and can be done anywhere, anytime. They offer practical suggestions to help you:

  • raise happy, confident, emotionally resilient kids
  • encourage positive behaviour
  • set rules and routines that everyone respects and follows
  • take care of yourself as a parent
  • feel confident about your own parenting choices

For more information on the free programs that are available, please see the flyer attached below, or head to the Parent/Carer Resources section on our Wellbeing Hub where you will find more information and all the relevant links.

House Cross Country

House Cross Country is this Thursday May 12th in the afternoon. The event will run from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. This event is always a fun, sporting, cheerful, healthy event for the students. The students can gain points for their house. It is a great opportunity for students to achieve their Personal Best. Selected age group 9/10/11/12/13 students will be able to complete at District Athletics held on Wednesday May 25th. Please make sure you get onto compass and give permission for your child to attend. I have attached a map of the course. Please note age group 5/6/7 run approximately 1 km, age group 9/ 10 approximately 2 km and age group 11/12/13 approximately 3 km. The students will be running in the school grounds and the surrounding streets. I am in need of parent helpers to help out on the course in directing students on the correct route and at the finishing line. If anyone is available please email me bronwyn.chisholm@education.vic.gov.au .If on the day you discover you are able to help out please meet at school at 2.00 pm in the undercover area and I will allocate positions. The weather for Thursday suggests rain. The cross country will go ahead unless it is lightening and thundering. Let’s hope the weather holds off and we have a fantastic afternoon of fun, fitness and excitement.

If you are manning a position please wear appropriate clothing, umbrella and a chair. Thank you for your help and support in advance.

School Contributions for 2022

Using the forms sent home last you can choose to pay by Credit Card at the office, BPay (details on the form) or Direct into the bank account.  If you pay via BPay or Direct into bank please return the forms (both pages please showing all contributions that you may choose to pay) to the office or scan and email to marlborough.ps@education.vic.gov.au so we are able to reconcile your payment.  You can also pay via Compass.  You can find this in the Payment Centre on the home page.

Please note that you may see in the payment section at the bottom of the page that you have an unallocated funds credit.  This may be because you had a credit from a cancelled excursion or something similar.  If you would like to use this credit, then you need to process this first by removing the amounts prepopulated in the Curriculum Contributions box and just adding the amount of the credit and then clicking on the process button.  The curriculum contributions will then show the amount less the credit applied, and you can continue with your payment.  If you wish to donate the credit amount, then an alternative option is to process your payment first and then add the credit amount to one of the donation areas and processing this. If you require any assistance, please contact the office 9870 3468 or email marlborough.ps@education.vic.gov.au
