Achievements

Elise and Alisha Molesworth- Hawthorn

Well done to both Elise and Alisha Molesworth, two of our Year 12 Academy students who are training with the Hawthorn VFL team.

 

Harry Brown - Power 16s Team

During the recent school holidays, Harry Brown was selected to play for the Gippsland Power Under 16s coached by our own Allan Chandler. Harry performed very well in both games and was named in the best players for the last game against Dandenong Stingrays. This is a terrific achievement. Well done Harry! 

 

Cain - Gippsland Football Club

Congratulations to Cain Layland who is playing in the National Premier League for Gippsland under 18s. The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is the national second tier competition in Australia. This league helps recognise the role that State League clubs are playing to develop players, and showcase local talent.

 

Mitchell Hauxwell-Te Paa - Sierra College

We were stoked to see former student Mitch Hauxwell-Te Paa sign with Sierra College in Sacramento last week. Mitch was one of our most dedicated and committed students putting in countless hours practicing to give himself the best opportunity to achieve his dream. We wish him all the best.

 

Nathan Wheildon - Senior Football

Congratulations to Nathan Whieldon who played his first senior game for Moe Lions. Nathan claimed his first win in a thrilling match against Traralgon ending in, Moe 8.8 56 to Traralgon 7.13 55 beating them by 1 point. Well done Nathan!

 

Olivia Gallus- Dance

Congratulations Olivia, who won all sections in the Gippsland Stars Classical Dance Competition, and won a Star Dancer Scholarship to attend the Australian Teachers of Dancing Scholarship Camp in Melbourne.

 

Jack Airley - Soccer

Congratulations to Jack Airley who has been nominated for the Churchill Soccer Under 15s Captain for 2022.

Partnerships

Gippsland United are proud to announce a partnership with Lowanna College Sports Academy.

 

The Lowanna College Sports Academy recognises the importance of providing students with a fulfilling and challenging education that allows young student athletes to develop their sporting talent while building confidence, character, and leadership skills. 

 

Gippsland United are excited to support young and aspiring Gippsland athletes striving for their goals. This partnership forms part of the clubs overall strategic plan in engaging with community. Amongst other things, the club will support the academy with coaching and the logistical support of the upcoming Lowanna 3×3 school competition.

 

3 on 3 Basketball Competition

Lowanna College in conjunction with Gippsland United present a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.

 

Now an Olympic sport, 3 on 3 is a wonderful way to enjoy the game of basketball, so we are inviting primary schools for a chance to compete in our inaugural competition on Friday June 17th, 2022.
