Recreation News

Recent recreation activities have included a trip to the Little Beach Café. The boarders and Ms Holder enjoyed meeting the birds and many farm animals there. The Forts were a popular attraction last week and a good way to burn off that excess energy. The Gap seems to interest our boarders and is different every time we go depending on the weather conditions.  The senior boarders also had a trip to Eyre Park, which was enjoyed by all who attended.

A number of students have enjoyed the warmer recreation offers of the movies and ten pin bowling, with great connections being made amongst students.

Mother’s Day Card making was on the recreation schedule in the Middle School houses and the 1000 Hearts kindness project is in the planning stages.

We are no longer putting the viewing of sports on the recreation schedule, as senior boarders will be allowed to do this whenever it suits. During basketball season we will restrict this as it is on a prep night and we require our students to be in house for prep whenever possible. Senior boarders are able to book transport and REACH to go to watch their peers play sport for a maximum of three hours leave time. We encourage our boarders to keep active and also to support their peers and this activity ticks both boxes.
