Principal's Report

I know I have written about these two events in my newsfeed earlier this week but they really were wonderful occasions and worth celebrating again.

Musical production

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was an undeniable success. Every person I have spoken to has agreed that the quality of the production and the energy and sheer happiness of those onstage together was remarkable. The cast and crew faced many challenges, including COVID, which was extremely disappointing for those who’d worked so hard and then had to isolate during the performances. But others stepped up, sometimes taking on a new role with less than a day’s notice, and performed to a level that meant the audience had no idea. Another student overcame an injury prior to the performance managing to get through, first in a wheelchair and then on crutches. Amazing.

My thanks once again to all involved; students, staff and Music Parents.

Athletics Carnival

Early in the week it seemed that bad weather might prevent the carnival from proceeding, but we were lucky on the day with cold but clear conditions.

The House Captains did an excellent job motivating the students to get involved - the numbers who wanted to be part of the major final event, House Tug-of-War, were higher than ever. In a close competition House Nicholls ultimately prevailed.

Well done and thanks to all who made the day such a success. Enjoy the photos in this newsletter.
