TERM 2 - WEEK 6

KINDERGARTEN 2023

This week the enrolment process for our 2023 Kindergarten cohort commenced with interviews. Throughout the interview process parents are educated on St Nicholas School's core values, structures and practices enabling them to understand what it means to be part of the St Nicholas community.

The interviews also mark the beginning of the transition process to formal primary education with a tour of the school. The tours also enable our parents to see for themselves the level of sophistication our profession provides in educating their child. The Kindergarten interview process always reminds me of the enormous responsibility and privileged position we hold as educators. Parents come to us asking for our help in providing their flesh and blood with a ‘hoped filled future’.

PRINCIPALS GATHERING

Today and tomorrow I am in Armidale at a system meeting with the other 23 principals from the Diocese. As part of our professional learning we will be hearing from Dr Dan White, former Diocesan Director of Schools for the Sydney Archdiocese.

I look forward to bringing this learning back to St Nicholas.

STUDENT LED LEARNING CONFERENCES

I trust parents have accessed their Compass Portal and booked a suitable time for their Student Led Learning Conference. The conferences are a powerful platform to model how you value education to your child.

Have a wonderful week.
