Welcome back to the 2023 year, I hope you all had a great break from school.
I would like to introduce myself my name is Emma Attrill and I am a Registered Nurse and have been for the last 20 years. I have lots of experience working with both children and adults and have worked at the Royal Childrens Hospital and other adult hospitals throughout Melbourne. I have worked at GWPS for the last year and my hours are 9:30am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday.
When to anticipate a call from the school Nurse:
- Notification of an injury to your child’s head
- Illness that is contagious requiring collection from school e.g., conjunctivitis, gastroenteritis
- Suspected head lice
- Suspected fractures-that need medical assessment asap
- Injury or illness requiring ambulance assistance
- If your child has a fever and has symptoms of being unwell and unable to complete their schoolwork due to illness
Reminders:
- Please remember to hand in any care plans that your child may have for anaphylaxis. Asthma or Allergies and any medication used to treat these medical conditions to First Aid
- To have a full change of clothes in your child’s school bag in case of accidents.
