2C

2C are making connections to our school values!

The first week of school at GWPS is all about building connections. It’s a time to create a sense of belonging at school, get to know our new learning environment and ensure that everyone feels seen and heard.

Each day this week, we’ve focused on one of our four school values. On Tuesday, we focused on Respect by reading a book, “A Little Respectful Spot” by Diane Albert and exploring the true meaning of Respect and how we show others we respect them.

Each student thought about what Respect meant to them, and here are some of their responses;

“Respect means thinking about other people’s feelings, being kind and respectful”-Marvika
“Respect means helping people”- Arya
“Respectful means using manners”-Ritisha
“Respect means being kind and thinking about others”-Deana
We are respectful when we talk in kind words”- Sithuki

After sharing our thinking individually, we came together to create a shared definition of what Respect means in 2C, and this is what we came up with.

“RESPECT MEANS TO CARE ABOUT OTHERS WITH KINDNESS AND TREATING OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED".
