Yogi Update

Holiday Fun

Yogi had a wonderful time during the school holidays. He loved Christmas because Santa even left him a gift under the tree. He was lucky enough to receive new toys and lots of treats.

He has enjoyed the warmer weather so much that he even jumped into the swimming pool! He was a little hesitant to begin with but gained confidence quickly. He also loves playing in his shell pool at home where he jumps in to fetch his toy.

Yogi will start back at school on Monday, 6th February. This will allow students to settle back in to school. He will spend a day in each learning space, other than Foundation to begin with. Once the Foundation teachers are ready for Yogi to join in on the fun then he can come and play.

Yogi will be used as a teaching tool this year to help students learn social and emotional skills. Students will be able to tell when Yogi is happy, scared, excited, tired and so on.

Each learning space will have a small group of students who will be chosen by staff to be trained in handling a dog. This gives students a chance to walk Yogi to the toilet during learning time for a short brain break, walk Yogi on yard duty or help the teachers with anything they need while Yogi is in the learning space.

Yogi is definitely excited to come back to school and get lots of cuddles and pats from everyone.
