From the Principal's Desk
Welcome to the 2023 school year – those families returning for another year at ARPS and the new families and staff who will be joining the ARPS community for the first time. I trust you will embrace all that the school has to offer you and your child/ren and support the staff to provide the best possible education program.
Mrs Harkness will be taking up the Assistant Principal role for Term 1. She will be working alongside me to ensure the smooth running of the school.
Swimming
- The school is running a 6 six-lesson swimming program for students in Years 3 – 6 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday over a 2 week period. Students will need to bring bathers, towel, swimming cap. Goggles are optional.
Swimming Dates
Monday, 20th; Wednesday, 22nd; Thursday, 23rd February
Monday, 27th February; Wednesday, 1st; Thursday, 2nd March
Hats
Hats are COMPULSORY in Term 1. The school operates a NO HAT NO PLAY policy in the interests of student health and safety.
Canteen News
The school has employed a new canteen manager – Zoe Nielsen. Zoe will need the first week or so to clean the canteen ready for food management and order supplies. Canteen orders will be through the Quickcliq app – further information will be forwarded to families in due course as will the commencement date of the canteen.
Student Attendance
Regular attendance at school is essential if students are to reach or exceed the required learning standards. Where a student is absent from school, a parent/carer MUST contact the school before 9:30am to advise their absence and the reason why OR they can log the absence on the Parent Sentral App which all parents MUST have on their device as this is how the school communicates with parents/carers. The school sends out an absence SMS at 9:30am and this costs money!
Lateness
Students are REQUIRED to be at school by 8:50am each day – PLEASE help your child to be on time. NO student should not arrive at school before 8.30am as there is no supervision. Breakfast Club will operate from 8:00am – 8:45am.
Sentral Parent App
ALL PARENTS/CARERS are required to have this app on their phone, or another device, as that is how the school informs parents/carers about what is happening at school.
