Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church.

St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parish's ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Hello Families and Friends of St Anthony's,

It is a very busy and exciting time of the year.

Building Update

The builders have continued to working very hard and you would have noticed that the fencing was removed on Thursday. Now the final clean up and internal works can be completed. Everything is on track for completion in early December so that we can move in and start 2023 in our new school offices. The office will remain in the library for the end of 2022.

Staffing Update for 2023

After 9 wonderful years at St Anthony's Jodie Bawden will be leaving at the end of the year. She has accepted a position at St Thomas the Apostle, Cranbourne East.

Jodie has held different roles over her time here at St Anthony's from intervention, class teacher, SPEL and even the organiser of student book club orders. She has made a difference in the lives of many St Anthony's students.

Hester Ang will be leaving St Anthony's at the end of the year as she has accepted a position at The Lighthouse Christian College. Although Hester has only been here for this year, she certainly made an impression as a reliable emergency teacher and great classroom teacher.

I thank Jodie and Hester for sharing their talents and dedication with the staff, students and families of St Anthony's. I know you all join me in wishing Jodie and Hester much success and joy in their new roles for 2023.

Next year we have Pei-Yi Lim joining us at St Anthony's. She is a classroom teacher who has worked at St Joseph's in Pakenham supporting student literacy learning. I'm excited to see Pei share her literacy knowledge with the staff and students at St Anthony's.

We also have Troy Holland joining us as our Music Therapist. Troy has worked with patients at the Children's Hospital and with children at Belmore School in Balwyn. Troy brings a passion for music, knowledge of Jazz and improvisation and enthusiasm to St Anthony's.

Mary Daico will join the St Anthony's staff team as a Learning Support Officer. Mary is currently completing her teaching degree and will study and work part time in 2023.

Mary will bring a warmth and passion for education to St Anthony's.

I look forward to welcoming our new staff members in 2023 and I am sure they will be fantastic additions to our already amazing staff!

Families Leaving St Anthony's

We are busy finalising classes for 2023. If any families are leaving St Anthony's at the end of the year please let the office know as soon as possible so that we can best plan for the year ahead.

St Anthony's Community Day

It was so lovely to see students, families and other parishioners at the St Anthony's Community day. The choir and their beautiful singing was certainly a highlight. I'd like to thank all staff that volunteered an hour or two of their time to assist on the day and to congratulate our wonderful choir.

Health Care Cards and School Fees for 2023

In 2023, all families who have a Health Care Card can continue to receive a discount rate on their school fees. We ask that you bring in your card to the office this term and set up a direct debit with us if you have not already done so.

Today students will bring home a letter regarding school fees in 2023. This is a reminder that we are committed to supporting families to meet their obligations to pay school fees. If you have any concerns about the payment of fees, please reach out to me for a confidential discussion and to explore financial support arrangements.
