YEAR 7 KIDS FOOD FOR KIDS - KIMBERLEY

This morning, Year 7 Kimberley took part in making lunches for underprivileged children at Koondoola Primary School.

We made 40 sandwiches with a variety of fillings across six stations - two cutting and wrapping, one packing and three sandwich-making. The sandwiches we made were ham and cheese, salami and cheese and Vegemite and cheese. They were then packed with a chocolate or strawberry milk and apples.

We would like to give a big thank you to the Home Economics Department for its help; my mum, Mrs Vicky Ryan, for delivering the lunches; and the Kimberley students and their families who donated $2 each to help get the supplies.

In Semester Two, each of the eight Year 7 PCGs has contributed to this initiative and made a total of 320 lunches.

I would like to sincerely thank Bakers Delight in Mullaloo for donating the bread and the Pullella family from The Herdsman for donating the apples for the entire program.

This program would not been possible without the help of Mrs Pam Van Eyck and Mrs Tracey Atkinson from the Home Economics department.

We have really made a difference by providing either a breakfast or lunch for these children who come to school each day without food.
