Meet and Greet

Thank you for attendance on Newlands Primary School's Meet and Greet Day. It was a lovely opportunity for us teachers to spend some time discussing your child's progress and transition with you. To continue a strong partnership with students and families, teachers are available for the few minutes before and after school for a brief chat about any queries or questions, or for a more detailed conversation, feel free to book in an appointment.

Ride2School Day

We would like to extend a massive thank you to our students and families for your fantastic efforts on celebrating Ride2School Day. It was wonderful to see so many students ride their decorated bikes to school and participate in the school parade. Well done to the following students on receiving the Best Decorated Bike award:

F1A - Louis Evans

F1B - Harvey Sciglitano

F1C - Charlie Green

F1D - Nadia Labarga

F1E- Lowri Brown

F1F - William Tsoupas

Timetables

Each day, our students engage in a structured learning program that is delivered in both Spanish and English. Below is the F1 timetable which outlines a typical week for each class:

Instrumental Music Program

At Newlands Primary School, students have the opportunity to undertake music lessons in piano/keyboard, violin, ukulele, drums and bass/acoustic/electric guitar. Please see the school office or the PDF below for further information and details on how to enrol your child.

Thank You

Well done to all our students who are arriving at school before 9am. This has supported teachers in their ability to create consistent morning routines by reducing the number of disruptions to the morning role, daily overview and Circle Time. We are continuing to work towards ensuring all students are ready to enter the classroom as soon as the bell rings at 9am.

Take Home Readers

Our Take Home Readers program is well underway and it is great to see so many children reading every night. Please ensure that students are bringing in their Take Home Readers everyday as they are required to change over their English book daily and they may require their Take Home Book for their Reading lesson. On Thursdays, students will change over their Spanish Take Home Readers and it also doubles as our Library day, where students are able to return and borrow two books from the school library.

Foundation Parents

Congratulations, you have made it through your child’s first seven weeks of learning at school. We hope you and your child have enjoyed the Newlands experience as much as we have thus far. At Newlands Primary School, we continue to strive and improve our processes through as much feedback as possible. Below is a short questionnaire regarding your families transition into Newlands Primary School. The survey should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete. This feedback will be valuable as we begin to set up our 2021 transition.

Please click on the following link to begin the Newlands Transition Process Survey.

The survey will open from Monday  2nd of March and close at 5:00pm on Friday the 20th of March.

As always, if you need any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact the office.
