Opera at the Bowl on November 24
Has your family ever had a night out together listening to opera?! Orchestra Victoria is teaming up with some of our best up and coming opera singers to bring a FREE night of entertainment at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl!
Bring a picnic to share with your family and friends while being blown away by the absolute classics of opera underneath the stars. Gates open at 4pm for an 8pm start on Saturday November 24.

Bayside Dance Off 2018
Our auditions are happening over the next 2 weeks for the Bayside Dance Off. It's a fun opportunity for students to work together in groups of 2-6 to make up their own dance without any help from adults. Dances are to be no longer than 2 minutes and the main goals are being creative and having fun together!
A full run down of the schedule is posted on the windows beside the sand pit. It's certainly not too late to see Mr Murnane to enter or if you're having second thoughts and don't want to perform, you can still be involved as an audience member.
We will choose 1 group from each age group category as outlined below to represent BRPS at the finals! The final is held on Friday December 7th at Hampton PS.
WHO: Students from your school
AGAINST: Students from other Bayside State Primary Schools
TIME: 2 minute max music.
GROUP SIZE: minimum 2-maximum 6 members
3 age group categories:
- Prep, 1 and 2
- Year 3 and 4
- Year 5 and 6
Students must have choreographed the dance themselves with no adult input.
Marks will be given for 3 categories:
- Choreography- how original are the dance moves etc
- Costumes- how creative are the costumes.
- Stage presence
We hope your groups is practising often at recess and lunch times. We can't wait to be entertained and blown away by your dancing, creativity and stage presence!
Choir performances in December
The Compass event is up for the O'Brien Arena choir excursion on December 14th with a run down of the day.
Black Rock House carols is only a few weeks away! We hope your singing voices are getting warmed up for a fun community evening. The junior choir and choir will combine together to perform at Black Rock House on Wednesday December 5th. Our 2 festive pieces this year are "Where shall we go this Christmas" and "Aussie Jingle Bells".
The third performance is another combined choir performance on Friday December 7th. The retailers in Black Rock Shopping Village, along with Bayside Council and Rotary Club are currently organising a Christmas Festival event. We are hoping to secure the 6:00-6:15pm time slot.
Choir rehearsals will be Tuesday RECESS 11:00-11:20am for the next 2 weeks due to the 5/6 students having their intensive swimming program. Junior choir as usual on Thursday lunch 1:15-1: 45pm.
