Year 10

Many of our year 10 students are enthusiastic and excited about their work experience and have obtained placements in a variety of work places.  Work experience is an excellent opportunity for students to trial their future careers and develop a range of employability skills. Completed contracts are now being distributed to employers, parents and students via email.

The final date for submission of contracts:

  • Students attending the Central Australia Camp- 15 May 2020
  • Students not attending the camp 29 May 2020

ALL YEAR 10 STUDENTS REQUIRE A WORK EXPERIENCE CONTRACT

Wondering where to get your Work Experience contracts?

You can get them from the Careers Office OR you can access them online through the Careers Website. Just go to the Portal -> RSC Careers -> Workplace Learning -> Required Documents

Here you will find The Work Experience Arrangement Form.

You should start contacting organisations NOW to arrange your Work Experience for 2020.

Remember, if you are going on Central Australia your Work Experience dates are 15th - 18th of June.

If you aren't going on Central Australia you can do a 2 week placement 15th - 26th of June or two separate placements (15th - 19th of June) and (22nd - 26th of June).

Early Leaders Program (ELP) for Year 11’s at Swinburne

The Early Leaders Program (ELP) provides secondary students with the opportunity to be recognised for extra-curricular activities, making themselves attractive candidates for future employers.  The ELP is open to all students who are undertaking Year 11 in 2020.  Completion of the Early Leaders Program can be a great achievement to include in applications for employment and further study. Undertaking it also provides a range of valuable benefits to students.

Students can:

  • Develop life skills
  • Grow your confidence
  • Increase your employability
  • Gain recognition for achievements from a leading university
  • Get out of your comfort zone and try something new

In addition to the above benefits, students who successfully complete the Early Leaders Program will be awarded credit towards the Swinburne Emerging Leaders Program, a program for enrolled Swinburne students only.

Applications for the program close on Friday 13 March 2020, and students who are keen on finding out more, or applying, should visit Early Leaders Program (ELP)<
