Netball

Congratulations to our Netball semi-finalists, 15 – 18 years Bellbirds, 13/14C Eagles, 13/14B Magpies and 13/14A Wrens on their achievement.

The Calrossy Bellbirds and Magpies did not continue to the finals while Calrossy Wrens and Eagles both qualified to play in finals.

After competitive games in both finals both the Wrens and Magpies bowed out of the competition. Both of our teams’ will compete again in the 13/14 years division in 2020.

I look forward greatly to seeing their improvement in the coming years.

Thank you to the many players and parents who have supported our teams during the season.

Hockey

Calrossy were represented in both the Division 3 and Division 1 Hockey Grand Finals on Monday 16 September.

Calrossy Pink in Division 3 had an undefeated season going into the game and had a very testing game against Carinya. In the final minutes of play Calrossy Pink scored the winning goal being successful 1 – 0.  Congratulations to the team and coach Mrs Fiona Wilson on an outstanding season of Hockey.  As with our 13/14 years Netball teams, the Calrossy Pink team is made up of Year 7 players which underlines the quality of athletes we have and ensures our ongoing competiveness in the coming years.

After a number of close losses in previous years our Calrossy 1 team competing in the Division 1 competition went to the half time break 1 – 1 with Oxley High School.  After a half time team talk from Mrs Gail Salter the Calrossy 1 team were successful winning 4 – 1.  The Calrossy 1 team played a great team game displaying exceptional sportsmanship with every player contributing to the win.

Congratulations to Bridget Tydd who was named as the Best and Fairest player in the Division 1 competition.

This will be Gail Salters’ last season and her contribution to Calrossy Hockey has been greatly appreciated.  Her commitment and passion for Calrossy Hockey over many years will be missed by all. Thank you
