Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR)

This week, April from The Department of Education's Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships Initiative visited the teachers at St Michael's for a professional learning session. April spoke to the teachers about family violence, gender stereotypes and the way we teach the RRRR Curriculum at St Michael's.

RRRR is abut creating a culture of respect, building students’ personal resilience and supporting gender equality. It aims to make lasting social, generational change. The best way to do this is to start with our children and young adults, to teach them the skills, attitudes and behaviours to lead respectful, safe lives.

The Classroom Topics covered in the RRRR curriculum include:

  1. Emotional Literacy
  2. Personal Strengths
  3. Positive Coping
  4. Problem-Solving
  5. Stress Management
  6. Help Seeking
  7. Gender and Identity
  8. Positive Gender Relationships

The ultimate goal of keeping our young people safe is a top priority.

In a few weeks' time, April will re-join us at St Michael's to meet with teacher teams and plan forward in the RRRR space.
