Happy Mother's Day
Dear Parents and Carers
Five/Six G Assembly TOMORROW, 2.40 in the Hub Enhancement Session - THIS SATURDAY, 20TH MAY, 9-11am
Please note that weekly Parish mass times will now be located each week on our School Hours / Timetable page in our newsletter.
The feast of the Ascension brings us to the end of the season of Easter. It signifies the time that Jesus finally leaves his disciples and entrusts to them the work of sharing the Good News, that of the love of God for everyone.
On this feast of the Ascension, let us find time together to pray to the spirit and seek the gifts the spirit brings us.
As we head towards the end of May, I will be setting times in the next two weeks to hold Prep Family Meetings for all families who have enrolled their child for next year; both existing and new families to the school. If you have not yet placed your child's enrolment form with the office, please do so as soon as possible. Phone calls to book in these meetings will be made imminently.
This week Eloise and I met with ASPA, our production company, to finalise dates and review potential dates for the 2023 St Michael's School Performance. As mentioned perviously, cast selection and rehearsals will occur throughout Term 3 with ASPA staff onsite to take all classes on Fridays throughout the term. Please be aware of this in your own family planning for appointments. A more detailed timetable is forthcoming.
Additionally, Eloise and I investigated potential theatres for us to use for our final performances. We will be looking to hold one matinee performance and one evening performance. Details of the location, dates and times of these are also forthcoming.
The excitement is building!

St Michael's held its first Kinder Kids Reading session for the year, inviting 3 and 4 year old kinder students to have stories read to them by our Year 5 students, who will be their buddies in Year Six. Thank you to our Year Three students who previewed a variety of picture story books and designed fabulous book marks for the Kinder Kids to take home.
Our Year Fours prepared Mars Bar slice for our visitors, who all went back for seconds. Delicious! I'm glad there were left overs for the Year 4s to take home.
Our Year Fives showed excellent leadership skills in greeting families and engaging the Kinder children in the picture story books. I can see they will make amazing buddies next year.
Our next session is being held on Friday 16th June, 8.50-9.45am. Please tell your neighbours and friends. Anyone is welcome to come along. Who knows what our year Fours will make for the next session??
We could not have asked for a more glorious day to hold our Cross Country event this year. Our Year Threes to Sixes excitedly made their way to Warner Reserve to compete in this event and hope to qualify for the District Cross Country event.
The following students will be representing St Michael's Parish School in the Glen Iris District Cross Country event, to be held on Tuesday 23 May, 9.30am - 12.30pm at Nettleton Park, Glen Iris. We wish our students well and know they have the talent and mindset to go further! Keep believing in yourself!!
We also congratulate the following students who have been selected to represent St Michael's Parish School in the Junior Hoop Time Basketball Competition to be held on Friday 9th June, at the Nunawading Basketball Centre in Burwood East. Practices for this event will be scheduled during school time by Mr Lo Ricco. Well done to all our entrants and all the best for 9th June!!
