Y9/10 Cooking with Chemistry
Our Cooking with Chemistry students have been investigating chemical reactions for their PBL through cooking with eggs in the kitchen. They have selected their own dishes and investigated a factor which may affect how well the food is cooked.
Some students changed the amount of vinegar added when poaching eggs, some used egg substitutes in baking brownies or cupcakes to see the effect on the taste and texture, and there were many other wonderful investigations. Their next step is to analyse their results and use their scientific knowledge to explain what occurred.
