‘Grapple’- Inquiry Based Learning occurs 4 times a week and students have an opportunity to either create their own inquiry question or choose from the given questions. This term, students in Stage 3 are researching about Biomes. They have two inquiry questions to choose from. How do physical conditions affect the survival of living things? or How do the structural and behavioural features of living things support survival?

Inquiry based learning is a great way to support students in developing self-regulation skills. By encouraging students to ask questions, research and create their own mind maps, they are able to take ownership of their learning. This process helps students to develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. By presenting a prototype, students are able to demonstrate their understanding of the material and showcase their creativity. Overall, inquiry-based learning is a fantastic way to support students in becoming lifelong learners.
