It is strange to think that we are entering the final term of the school year already and what a year! This term, we encourage everyone to finish the year strong and set themselves up for the best possible 2024. Let's make this term unforgettable!

Embracing Work Experience - A Valuable Opportunity

This week, a large number of year 10 students are completing work Experience. This invaluable opportunity allows them to gain real-world insights into various industries, develop essential skills, and explore potential career paths. We applaud their eagerness to learn and grow during this week and encourage them to make the most of this valuable experience.

Last Days of Year 12 - Finishing Strong

For our Year 12 students, this term marks the countdown to the culmination of their school years. We encourage you all to finish strong, give your best, and stay focused on your goals. If you're preparing for exams, remember that hard work and preparation will pave the way for success. Your teachers and the entire school community are here to support you every step of the way. As the final days approach, let us remember that this is not a farewell but a "see you later." With students welcome to return for support from staff once classes are finished. We also invite students and families to our annual Valedictory dinner to celebrate achievements, growth, and the lasting memories created at HPSC.

Stay Informed - Subject Releases and Book Lists

During this term, students and families should be on the lookout for the release of student subjects. This information will also include essential details about book lists for the upcoming year. Stay informed and be ready to embark on another year of learning and growth.

Welcome Audry

We are thrilled to welcome Audry to our school community as our new House Administration Assistant. Audry brings a warm spirit to our team and we look forward to working together to provide the best support to our students and their families.

Name: Audry Treadwell (yes, I’m John’s mum)

Favourite Subject at school: Textiles

Favourite Food: Mexican or chargrilled steak with chips and gravy

Favourite Style of Music: Hard rock

Hobbies: Sewing, hand crafts, reading - Katherine Kerr is my favourite author

Movies you would recommend: I’m a book nerd so love the classics like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Hunger Games … also love action movies like Fast and Furious and John Wick

Quote you live by: Sometimes you need to be an arrow, you need to pull back to move forward.

Who do you look up to and why? I don’t have any one person, but I find that people who overcome tragedy and trauma, who can still be kind and gentle without bitterness or resentment are the ones I find most inspiring.

Why did you want to work in a school? I really enjoy being a helpful person, which led me to become a Classroom Support Aide. I wanted to keep supporting students in a different way through this role. I also wanted to come to HPSC to give back to the community.

What is a piece of advice you would give to students? Keep a positive open mindset, and learning doesn’t stop when you finish school. Embrace everything life has to offer and apply yourself to the wonderment around you. Patience and kindness cost nothing but spreads happiness to everyone around you.
