General House Information

The mentor group competition provides equal opportunity for all students to participate and showcase their strengths in all areas of learning. This intra-house competition has promoted an in-house competition between mentor groups. Mr Hare piloted the competition with four mentor groups (Year 7/8 Hollows) and received positive feedback. It has gradually extended across all houses within the space of a year. The competition has provided multiple opportunities for students to participate in academic, cultural, community and physical competitions. Students have demonstrated their talents in all areas of learning, while contributing to their house. Students have contributed through monetary and food donations, creating logo’s, mascots, poems, and house chants. Success and achievements are acknowledged through regular house assemblies. The purpose of the competition is for students to gain a greater sense of belonging while developing leadership through student voice and agency. Continuing the Mentor group competition will provide students with leadership opportunities where they can build relationships, communicate, negotiate, solve problems, create, perform and gain a sense of house pride. An increase of student voice and agency is the next stage to strengthen the implementation of our HPSC Mentor Group Competition.

House Points Update – Final for 2023

House points are currently being finalised with the winner of the House Cup to be announced at the Year 12 Final Assembly! The winning House will have the Cup presented to the House Captains to proudly receive. 

It is a close call this year with the Values nominations, Academic Awards, HP’s Got Talent, Book Reviews and Poetry Competition all having been added since the last points update! You will need to wait for the big reveal!!!

Who will win??? 

The competition is close, Mabo has been in the lead neck and neck with Freeman for much of the year with Walton following close behind! Will Hollows make a late run?
