VET Kitchen Operations – Special Dinner Service for Family & Friends
It’s always a pleasure to pause the busyness of school life to stop to enjoy, celebrate and showcase our students.
On Thursday 11th October we shared a very special evening with the families of the Kitchen Operation students when we hosted a three course dinner service prepared and served by the students.
Our guests were seated in the College kitchen where we could best showcase the talents of four of our Kitchen Operations Students Michelle, Kayla, Ashley & Jai as they worked.
The event was the culmination of 2 years of study and practical experience for this small group dedicated VET students.
The students have become extremely popular with members of our school community over the duration of their two year course, sharing their skills to provide catering to a broad range of College activities including the following:
Weekly lunchtime services for staff… these services became so popular we had to create waiting lists! Graduation Cookies for the Year 12 Graduations for 2022 and 2023, Catering for our Careers Expo event, Open Night 2023 and the Semester 1 Attendance Celebration.
The students were presented with a token of appreciation for their contribution to the catering of these College events.
We congratulate the students on their professionalism when undertaking these tasks and greatly appreciate what great ambassadors they have been for the College.
The success of the students no doubt was greatly enhanced by the leadership, support and guidance of their dedicated VET trainer Helen who generously shared her industry experience to the classroom and beyond.
Our VET Kitchen Operations students are part of the 2023 Year 12 Cohort that will graduate this year.
