Excursion to St Francis Xavier Church

In Religious Education this term, the students studied sacred symbols, sacred items, and sacred rituals of the Catholic Faith. As part of their learning, they were provided the opportunity to experience these sacred symbols, sacred items and rituals firsthand by celebrating the Mass with Fr. Mark and Deacon Errol at St Francis Xavier Parish in Hilbert.

For some students this was their first time visiting and celebrating the Mass in a Catholic Church. The Year 7s participated in the Mass respectfully and prayerfully. The students enjoyed the excursion, and many students commented on how they liked the peaceful time to sit, reflect and pray. The students even had the opportunity to ask Fr. Mark any questions about his role as Parish Priest and about the Mass and the Church.

Thank you, Fr. Mark, Deacon Errol and the Staff at St. Francis Xavier Parish for always making our Salvado students feel welcome. We look forward to our next visit.

St John the Baptist Sacred Bonfire

Each year, our parish holds a sacred Fire on the eve of St John the Baptist's Feast Day (23 June) to dispose of spiritual goods that are damaged and need to be disposed of.

As Catholics have done for centuries before us, we build a fire and spend time with our family as we remember this great saint who courageously preached the coming of the Messiah and ask Him for His intercession. There is a special blessing for the vigil fire and afterwards we can enjoy toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate! This year, we will be hosting the City of Armadale Community Activity Trailer with outdoor family games, BBQ and TV. The whole Parish and School Community are invited to attend on Friday 23 June from 5pm to 7pm.

Sausage sizzle: $2

Drinks: $1 & real coffee will be available for purchase.

The event is FREE but please book tickets via trybooking for catering purposes. The fire will be lit behind the Church and the area will be restricted. All parking will be in the front carpark.
