Sorry Day
Year 7's and Year 9's were given the opportunity to participate in many different activities in order to develop their knowledge and understanding of Australian indigenous culture and especially Koorie culture consolidating their studies in Humanities where they explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and the impact of colonisation. While our students engaged in meaningful conversations regarding Welcome to Country, Sorry day, The Apology and the importance of reconciliation & closing the gap, ensured that students were provided with opportunities to build their awareness of Australian Indigenous culture and examine how various cultural groups are represented in our community thus developing their intercultural capabilities. A BIG thank you to Ms. Halasa and the KDC community for all your efforts in organising the important event.
