Senior School Happenings
Preparations are in full swing for our Years 11 and 12 Camp to Adelaide in the final week of this term. We are excited to be able to take the 21 students who are keen to come and we look forward to experiencing Adelaide and everything it has to offer. We will be doing a wide range of activities from University and Residence tours and presentations, visiting the Gallery of South Australia and even a Haigh’s Chocolate Factory Tour, in order to gain experiences that connect with subjects being studied.
It was an honour to see our Senior House Captains for Mullagh and Wallace being presented to the school community at an assembly last week. These captains really stepped up to their first challenge at the swimming sports on Monday, getting their houses involved in events and cheering, encouraging others to have a go, as well as participating themselves whenever they could.
All students who participated in the swimming sports are to be commended for their efforts and enthusiasm in making it such a positive event for our school community.

Year 12 English Excursion
Last Friday, 21st February, the Year 12 VCE English students attended learning sessions with Ross Huggard at Horsham College. Ross Huggard is an Assistant Chief Assessor for VCE English and comes to Horsham each year to give students the opportunity to hear all the information they need to know about the VCE English course and also for one of their study texts, ‘The Lieutenant’.
The information that the students gain from these lectures is immensely beneficial to their learning and sets them up for their final year of study in their only compulsory VCE subject, English. They are given facts, advice and next steps to make the most of their learning and opportunities in senior English.
The next lecture series will be in August and will focus on exam techniques and our comparative texts. The students are looking forward to hearing more of Ross Huggard’s advice and suggestions at this time, in order to be fully prepared for their final exams.

Outdoor Rec
Students in the Outdoor Recreation Elective have recently had a go at bowling. A big thanks to some wonderful volunteers from the Edenhope Bowling Club, Annie and Roger Osbourne, for sharing their knowledge and skills on the greens.
Life Skills Elective
Ag - Fencing
Earlier this week, students in the Agriculture Elective joined a small group of farmers to participate in a fencing workshop on Wednesday. It was a great morning, with the boys actively participating.
The workshop was timely as the class is working on a fencing unit, where they are learning to build fence end assemblies, use wire strainers correctly and upskill in learning to tie a variety of knots used in the fencing operation.
