Foundation / Year 1/2 Investigative Play Fun

The Foundation/Year 1/2 students just love their investigative play lessons in Miss Thornton's classroom!

Year 1/2 Procedural Texts

In writing, we are learning about procedural texts. On Thursday, we wrote a procedure for ‘how to make popcorn’ and then we got to make and eat it! Yum! It was heaps of fun.

Yummy Popcorn

Turn on the machine. Put the bowl next to the machine. Put the kernels in the machine. Put butter on top of the machine. Wait for the popcorn to pop. Get the paper bag. Open the paper bag. Get the opened bag and then get the cup. Get the cup and pour the popcorn into the bag. Pour the butter in the bag. Finally eat it.

Year 3 /4

In Year 3 /4, our focus for maths has been addition and subtraction. The students have enjoyed readdressing a subject they have done before. We played a game called Mathopoly this week and gathered lots of points!

Our class book this week was the 39-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton. We have loved joining Andy and Terry on their adventures throughout the story. We will be continuing the series for the rest of the term.
