International Women's Day

On March 8, people all over the world will celebrate International Women’s Day 2020.

The theme this year is equality.  #EachforEqual

At Edenhope College we will collectively be making a number of displays and running a competition for all students.

Students, parents, carers and teachers are invited to add photos and pictures of women and girls who are role models or who inspire them to our display outside the Food Technology room (from Monday February 2 to Friday February 13.)  The girls and women may be from contemporary or historical society.

The competition will have three categories and entries are due on Tuesday March 10 (please deliver by hand or email to the school office Edenhope.co@edumail.vic.gov.au.)  Entries will be displayed from Wednesday March 11.  The competition will be judged by members of The Red Tail Gallery.  Winners will be announced on Thursday March 12.

Competition categories are:

  • Years F-4

Draw and label ’A girl or woman I admire is…’  Entry forms will be sent home in book bags on Monday March 2.

  • Years 5-8 and 9-12

A choice of:

  • A small written piece about a girl or woman you admire and why she is an important role model for you (minimum 200 words.)
  • A photograph of a girl or woman you admire (taken on a phone, digital or analogue camera and delivered to the school email.)  These will be printed by the school.  Please include the name and a brief caption about the girl or woman you have chosen.
  • A 2D artwork of a girl or woman you admire.  This can be a drawing, painting or collage and can be up to A3 size.  Please include the name and a brief caption about the girl or woman you have chosen.

Red Tail Gallery Art Competition

The Red Tail Gallery Art Competition is coming up with entries closing on Wednesday March 25th (exhibition will run from April 1-17.)  Categories include painting, paper craft, photography and craft/sculpture (other 3D.)

This year the committee is hoping that interested students will submit individual entries to the competition (forms available from Ms Brennan.)  Students are able to submit one artwork (up to A4 size) which may have been created at home or school.  Entry is free for students.  Any students, parents or carers with queries or questions about the competition, please see Ms Brennan.

Roowards

Congratulations Lolah Joubert, our first student to save up 30 RooWards, earning her the prize of a $10 voucher to the Edenhope takeaway shop!

Keep being safe, respectful and willing to learn to earn your RooWards.
