Word of the Month: Honesty

Mission: To successfully develop intellectually curious, self-confident and self- reliant young people for the betterment of a future global society.

Every year, as the new year comes along I begin to think about what I could have done better. This year I came across a series of questions that helped me reflect on this past year in a more meaningful and thoughtful way. In my reflection, a few words stood out to me: change, challenge, strength, and brave.

After reflecting on this past year I realized I pushed myself in a number of areas. I made myself vulnerable by applying for the principal position and even though I didn't get it I learned a great deal about myself and the areas I need to grow in. I also learned about my strengths and how those can help me develop my leaderships skills. In 2018 I also pushed myself physically by hiking and canyoneering regularly, which has helped me gain strength and confidence in my abilities. 

This year a major area I would like to focus on is to be grateful everyday, regardless of what it may bring. Each day is a gift. To be better able to put this into context I have started a gratitude journal that I have been writing in daily.
