P&F Welcome Back Barbecue
Another great night was enjoyed by all who attended the Parents and Friends (P&F) Welcome Back Barbecue this year. Thank you to Primary Music teacher, Hollie Burbage and Secondary Music teacher, Rory Marchant for the wonderful music on the night and congratulations to the many student performers! We have so many talented students across the School and to see such a variety of acts was a credit to all concerned. We appreciate the efforts of all involved with the P&F, as this night would not happen without their hard work and commitment.
Feedback is Welcome
I encourage all parents and guardians to arrange a meeting with me if you have any queries about our School. I would much rather you chat to me directly and provide me with feedback, so we can work together to provide the best possible environment for your children. Please contact Primary Secretary, Donna Brown on 9495 8118 to arrange an appointment.
Academic Progress
Our staff have been working hard to gather data, based on the academic ability of our students, to inform our teaching and learning and track progress over the course of the year. Parents of students in Pre-Primary to Year 2 will receive a comprehensive analysis of your child’s literacy and numeracy development this term, based on the On-Entry Assessment. Your class teacher will explain this to you in meetings to be held later this term. Students from Years 2 to 6 have all completed the Progressive Achievement Tests (known as PAT tests) to determine progress in literacy, numeracy and general ability. These provide valuable information for teachers and also assist us identify those students who require academic extension via a Curriculum Adjustment Plan. We are committed to extending the learning of our students who demonstrate high ability, just as we extend the learning of all other children. This information will form part of teacher/parent meetings later this term. Please see Deputy Head of Primary : Teaching and Learning, Fiona Currey should you have any further queries.
