Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

WELCOME TO FAMILY WEEK

I can not believe the how wonderful our parent community is when it comes to putting on events for other parents and children. The Mother's Day breaky was outstanding. My sincere thanks to Kaleen, Hannah, Rebekah and the many other helpers from the P&F. What a fantastic celebration. My thanks also to Beatrice and her team for the Mother's Day Stall. Children love shopping for mum and I hope that every mum in our school community was very spoilt.

Last week the Year 5/6 children were in Canberra and I wish to thank them for being so well behaved and for making our job so much easier. It was such a pleasure taking this group away and everywhere we went, comments were made about how well behaved the children were when visiting the sites of Canberra. We were very lucky to meet the Governor General at his home and he spent time explaining his role to the children. We also witnessed the High Court of Australia in session which was amazing. My thanks to Vicki, Sarina, Stephanie, Stephen, Sandra, Anne Marie and Jarrod for giving up their time and being on duty for 24 hours each day.

FAMILY WEEK

A very warm welcome to Family Week.

Family Week is our most important week in

the school year and always celebrated with

Grandparents/Special Visitors Day on this

Friday from 9.00am onwards. There is nothing more important than our families and with that we should celebrate and thank God for them.

The children are very excited about having their Grandparents/Special Person visit them TOMORROW and showing them around their school. It’s great to see that the children are very proud of their school and of the work that they do.

The following is a timetable for the morning:

Grandparents/Special Visitors arrive

approx. 9.00am and go to

classrooms as directed by teachers. Then proceed to Mass at 9.15am.

Grandparents/Special Visitors are invited to morning tea in the hall at 11.00am. (Please, no children).

MATHS CURRICULUM NIGHT

A gentle reminder about the Maths night on Wednesday 22 May. It would be great to see as many families attend as possible.

WINTER UNIFORM

A reminder that Winter Uniform becomes compulsory form Monday 20 May. If you require any uniform needs please contact the school office.

TOYS & FOOTY CARDS

I am very reluctant to ban children bringing items from home, however teachers are receiving more and more emails from parents saying that their children have lost an item and then having to spend teaching time trying to chase up issues. Therefore, at last nights staff meeting it was decided that if children bring any items from home it is at their own risk. Parents please do not contact any staff member if your child has lost an item. My advice is keep them at home! On another note, we are very disappointed that some child has taken a whole book of footy cards. If you find this book, please return it and no questions will be asked. Thank you.

This is my last newsletter until I return from long service leave in Term 3. I am travelling to France to visit family. I leave the school in the capable hands of Amanda Gill.

See you next  term, regards

Dino
