Year 12 Laptop Handover Sessions

This year is the fifth year that Year 12 students have completed the Laptop Program at Endeavour College. As part of this program, students and families take ownership of their laptop upon graduation, with the bonus of a perpetual Microsoft Windows licence. “Laptop Handover Sessions” are occurring in the coming weeks when this official handover of ownership (from the College to the family) takes place.

Year 12s have received the specific information about what they need to do and should now be registering for a session. This registration needs to be completed by Friday 3 November (Week 3). It is critical that students follow the instructions in order to receive their own individual serial numbers for Microsoft Windows before the session and they must print these out and bring them along to the session. The instructions for this are also available online via the Laptop Program course on ECOLI. Students should ensure they have taken copies of any files or work they still want to keep from the laptop before the session, as the laptop will be completely reformatted during the handover process.

Attendance at a “Laptop Handover Session” is a compulsory part of the Laptop Program and during this time students will complete their “Year 12 Student Exit Checklist”. If a student hasn’t registered for a Laptop Handover Session by Monday 6 November (Week 4), they should contact the College immediately to negotiate a time, otherwise the laptop will cease to operate when the existing Windows licence expires early next year. At this time the College will not be able to provide support.

2018 Year 11s- Laptop Program

Please ensure the return of all Laptop Program opt-in forms.  These orders need to be placed by Friday 3 November.  Should forms not be returned by this date, the assumption will be made that families are choosing not to be part of this program.  Please ensure careful attention has been paid to these forms.

End of Year Library Book Procedures

With the end of the year nearly upon us, it is timely to recap our library procedures concerning book returns.

It is a very busy time in the library with all students returning books and we aim to make the process as simple as possible. Students are reminded that they are responsible for any item they have borrowed.  They need to ensure that they have their own books and not allow them to be swapped. The library policy is that all items not returned to the library are to be paid for by the borrowing student.  Any books that are returned in a state unfit to be loaned to another student are also charged to accounts.

Prior to the end of formal lessons students are given lists of the items they have borrowed.  If items have not been returned by the date specified then a letter will be sent to parents notifying them of the outstanding items and the date that items will be charged to their account. Any items still outstanding will then be added to fee accounts and incur a $5 non-refundable processing fee. If an item is later returned, the cost of the item is refunded to the account.

The key dates for this process are listed below.
