DEBATING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING

This year has been an incredible year for debating and public speaking for Footscray City College. We have triumphed at a number of public speaking events and excelled in the debating competitions. Students that have participated consistently have achieved outstanding results in their English work. 

The program is a fantastic place for students to expand their knowledge of the world, develop their confidence, and build friendships. 

I highly recommend parents and guardians encourage their children to sign up next year, and if you want to have a break during the holidays, the Debaters Association of Victoria has a two day summer program: 

Years 7-8 - Tuesday 14th January and Tuesday 21st January

Year 9-10 - Wednesday 15th January and Thursday 16th January

Year 11-12 - Wednesday 22nd January and Thursday 23rd January

The cost to attend will be $160 per student for the 2 day program, inclusive of lunch.
