Rarely does a day go by when F1 is not a hive of activity during lunch times. This classroom is next to the Maths office and the ‘go to’ place for students wanting additional help with their maths. If a student has been absent for a test or assessment task, this is also the place that they will go to catch up on that task to avoid missing further instruction during class time.

Our Maths teachers are a helpful bunch and are willing to help all students, not only those that are in their current classes.

So if your son or daughter would like some extra help, tell them to come to F1 at lunchtime.

Consolidating activity - Finding the Hypotenuse

Forget about boring worksheets! Maths 3 girls consolidated their ability to identify the hypotenuse in right angle triangles with a dice, game board and score sheet. Students were required to roll 2 dice that represented the sides of the triangle, which they then drew on the 1 cm grid-paper game boards. The final step was calculating the length of the hypotenuse for their triangle, before rolling the dice to create the next one. The girls really enjoyed this activity as can be seen in the photos.
