Song-writing Workshop

with the Tiwi Islands band – B2M (Bathurst to Melville)

Riverlinks is offering a fantastic opportunity to a community group or school for young people to experience a workshop with some of the members of B2M.

B2M Workshop: Song-writing and Life

Wed 14 November, 2018

Duration: 1½ hours

Available between 10 am and 3pm

Ages: 15 to early 20s

Numbers: ideally 10 to 20 (max 30)

Cost: $100

In a safe space, the band, B2M, facilitate discussion with participants about issues that they face in their day-to-day environment. They create conversation around these issues, tease them out, and work with participants to turn them into lyrics. In the past, topics have ranged from domestic violence and drug & alcohol abuse through to bullying. Music is then mixed in with the lyrics to a final performance of the song at the end of the workshop.

Workshops can be adapted to suit requests of the participants/community and can extend to a recording of the work created in the session if additional time is requested. B2M’s passion for bringing positive outcomes from difficult circumstances make these workshops an incredible experience to participate in.

Requirements:

Whiteboard/Butchers paper and markers

Acoustic Guitar (B2M to provide)

Clapsticks (B2M to provide)

For further information or to book the workshop, call Riverlinks: 03 5832 9865
