ICAS Science Competition 2019
International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is a suite of competitions designed specifically for primary and secondary students. ICAS are conducted annually in Australia and in over twenty countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Pacific countries, and America. Over one million students enter the competition every year. Our students at Endeavour enter this competition every year to test their skills in key scientific areas like:
- Observation and measurement
- Data interpretation and application
- Investigation and
- Reasoning and problem-solving
Our students have again excelled in this competition and several have achieved distinctions or high distinctions and this effort places them in the top 10% of all students in Australia.
Distinction : Jay Nabb, Riley Verrall, Grace Mann, Oliver Cox
One student, Ashleigh Preiss, achieved a High Distinction which places her in the top 1% of all students in Australia who sat this competition. What an effort!
Other students will receive their certificates via their Science classes over the next week. From next year, our school will sit the REACH assessment, essentially the replacement for the ICAS as we know it.
