Which Homeroom will have the Longest Coin Line?
In order to raise money for Caritas Australia's Project Compassion, this Lent students will be collecting coins from March 10th - March 20th. Homerooms are trying to collect as many coins as possible so as to form the longest line.....Which Homeroom will be victorious? Lines will be created on March 25th.
This Lent let's help children in need be ready for school
This year’s Lenten theme is Journey to the Cross. As we prepare for Easter, students have been learning about Lent and especially the 3 main elements : Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving.
At the Ash Wednesday Mass each Homeroom was given a Backpack to represent that they are on a journey during this time of Lent.
It is now time for us to fill the backpacks with the following items:
ALL ITEMS MUST BE NEW (no second hand items will be accepted)
Picture books - fiction and non fiction
Chapter books
Exercise books
Scrap books
Coloured pencils
Textas
Rulers
Glue sticks
Colouring books/activity and sticker books
Pencil case
notebooks/journals
Learning flashcards (ABCs, Animals etc)
School socks
Underwear
Sunhat/caps
Backpacks will be donated to St Kilda Mums. This organisation works across Melbourne to support children in need. Our items will be used to help school aged children to have the basic supplies needed to attend school.
I encourage you to find out more about this amazing organisation on their website.
PLEASE BRING IN DONATIONS BY THE END OF TERM TO YOUR CHILD’S HOMEROOM OR IN THE BASKET AT THE FRONT OFFICE.
