PROJECT COMPASSION 

Which Homeroom will have the Longest Coin Line?

 

In order to raise money for Caritas Australia's Project Compassion, this Lent students will be collecting coins from March 10th - March 20th.   Homerooms are trying to collect as many coins as possible so as to form the longest line.....Which Homeroom will be victorious?  Lines will be created on March 25th.

This Lent let's help children in need be ready for school

 

This year’s Lenten theme is Journey to the Cross.  As we prepare for Easter, students have been learning about Lent and especially the 3 main elements :  Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving.

 

At the Ash Wednesday Mass each Homeroom was given a Backpack to represent that they are on a journey during this time of Lent.

 

It is now time for us to fill the backpacks with the following items:

 

ALL ITEMS MUST BE NEW (no second hand items will be accepted)

 

Picture books - fiction and non fiction     

Chapter books

Exercise books

Scrap books

Coloured pencils

Textas

Rulers

Glue sticks

Colouring books/activity and sticker books

Pencil case

notebooks/journals 

Learning flashcards (ABCs, Animals etc)

School socks

Underwear

Sunhat/caps

Backpacks will be donated to St Kilda Mums.   This organisation works across Melbourne to support children in need.  Our items will be used to help school aged children to have the basic supplies needed to attend school.
