Japanese

It’s been another busy term in Japanese classes with the various year levels focusing on different cultural and language areas.

YEAR 8 undertook a unit called “Our Colourful World” where they learned colours, animals, days and dates.  The end of the term saw them complete the Hiragana alphabet and undertake a mini research task to find out more about the rich traditions and culture of Japan.

YEAR 9 has spent the term learning about the wonderful cuisine on offer in Japan.  They made Curry-Rice and Maki Zushi and then cooked a meal for their family to enjoy as their major assessment for the term.

YEAR 11 and 12 have been focusing on language structures and kanji, but managed to squeeze in a lesson to cook “Nabe” - a hot pot to share!  With the Year 12 students having their HSC oral exam in August, speaking is the learning focus at the moment. We wish them good luck for this in Week 4 of Term 3.
