Photography and Digital Media
YEAR 9
Photography and Digital Media students have been learning about camera angles, shooting techniques, storyboarding, planning, filming and editing video to create a video display to be played at the MDCCX at the end of the year. Students have been studying the work of artists such as Pipilotti Rist and Peter Campus which compliments their practical work. See below sample:
YEAR 10
Year 10 have developed their own company, creating a range of digital media items related to a company and its branding. Students have created their own logo design considering the intention of the company, writing their own Vision and Mission statements, and evolving the branding through exploring prototypes. Students also built a website linking the products, the company and their information to communicate with consumers. In future projects students will be engaging in collaborative film production in their next learning experience.

NEXTWAVE FILM FESTIVAL
Year 10 students were also very lucky to have participated in a workshop presented by Alexis Neyland and David Fletcher from NextWave Film Festival. NextWave is a film making competition which is for regional youth. This year's theme is based around the idea of discovery and a game.

The aim of NextWave is to highlight a positive message about mental health. Students were able to engage and discuss filmmaking techniques such as shot selection and ways to include sound over video. They gained an extra insight into film making, which they can incorporate into their own future film productions. We hope to see many entries in this wonderful competition.
YEAR 12
Students in Year 12 have been exploring their own interests to create a Body of Work using the styles, techniques, processes and themes of their own choosing. Some of the ideas were decay over time and beautiful sunsets. They have researched photographic artists as influences for their photographic works and are working towards the completion of their Body of Work as the term closes.
